  • Functional Peers: Admin Executive, Admin Assistant, Scaffold Supervisor, Painting Supervisor, Logistics Supervisor, Project Planner & Coordinator, Site Supervisor, Quality Assurance & Control Inspector, Purchasing Assistant, Accounts Executive

Job Scope​

  • Is responsible for site safety for both special projects and site portfolio projects.

  • Is responsible for ensuring occupational health and safety matters in Shing Leck are in regulatory compliance.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Ensures that supervisors and workers comply with regulatory as well as the safety and quality standards of Shing Leck’s clients.

  • Implements Shing Leck’s safety plan and works with management to ensure that supervisors and workers comply with the plan and execute its deliverables.

  • Assists the Operations Manager and Project Manager with the stewardship of the yearly ISO 9001:2008 and OHSAS 1800:2007 audits and ensures compliance with risk management procedures in the Company’s site activities.

  • Prepares Job Safety Analyses, Work Method Statement, Lifting Plans, Confined Space Work documents.

  • Conducts regular site safety audits, toolbox talks, safety briefings before starting work as well as coaches workers on both regulatory and clients’ safety procedures.

  • Attends client training, communications sessions, workshops and meetings on safety and brings back information and knowledge obtained to share with Shing Leck’s Directors, HODs, managers, supervisors and workers.

  • Leads, supervises, motivates, trains and develops junior staff so that they have the required competencies to carry out their jobs and meet targets/goals.

 

Qualifications / Experience Required

  • High interest of pursuing a career in the field of Workplace Safety and Health within the Process Industry (Oil & Gas) 

  • Exposure to the petrochemical process industry would be an asset, although fresh "ITE" graduates are welcome to apply.

  • "NITEC" in Mechanical Technology, Chemical Process Technology or Equivalent.  

Authority Level

  • Authority to enforce compliance on chemical and refinery plant safety requirements.

  • Authority to escalate to plant and safety coordinators when a breach of safety practices occurs.

 

Key Deliverables/KPIs

  • Efficient implementation of Company’s safety policy and procedures.

  • Zero safety incidents or safety breaches.
